n I FULLY support Unison Branch Secretary Adrian Gregson's statements (You Say, August 2) on low and more equal wages and some of his comments on so-called "bed-blockers".
However, Councillor Adrian Gregson of Unison, and Leader of the local Labour group, seems to wear at least two hats - one Labour and one Unison.
With bed-blocking, it is his Government that holds the purse strings - and under-funding has resulted in thousands of beds in care and nursing homes being lost.
Regarding the introduction of the minimum wage, the Government also controls the level of this.
I could also add that at several meetings opposing the sale of council houses I have attended, representatives from Unison have strongly criticised the sale of sheltered accommodation and council houses, while Adrian Gregson and the majority of his Labour group colleagues supported the Tories and voted in favour to sell.
BRIAN HUNT, Worcester.
