TOURNAMENT officials were today praying for a change of luck in the disrupted Celtic Manor Resort Wales Open.
Only two golfers were able to complete their second rounds yesterday after a combination of fog, rain and lightning caused three lengthy delays.
Seventy-two players had not even started their rounds when play was abandoned.
Former Open champion Paul Lawrie, after 14 holes, had picked up four shots for a two-shot lead over Worcestershire's John Bickerton.
The Droitwich star rattled in four more birdies and suffered just one bogey, on the sixth, as he raced to eight under par.
Evesham's Jeremy Robinson, on three under, was one of the players who did not hit a ball yesterday, as was David Park of Hereford, on two under.
