A PET owl that went missing three days ago is to be re-united with its owner.
The Bengalese Eagle Owl was spotted in a garden in Worcester on Wednesday, wearing a ring around its leg.
Following a tip-off, an RSPCA inspector was able to rescue the bird and take it to the Vale Wildlife Centre, Beckford, on Wednesday evening.
The 16in brown and cream bird remained there on Thursday and, just as things seemed bleak, a man came forward yesterday, believed to be its owner.
"We have not actually met up with the man yet but he sounds like he's the owner," said Martin Brooks, from the centre.
"He rang us up, so he must have heard that it was here. We're due to meet up with him later today or tomorrow. "
Mr Brooks said the bird had been fine when it was brought in.
