BARNT Green CC First XI continued to turn their league season around last Saturday with a winning home draw against Moseley.

The result makes it four Birmingham and District premier wins on the bounce for Lyndon Jones' side and, in turn, moves them up to seventh in the table.

Scintillating batting from Gavin Haynes (88 not out), Hall (67) and Jones (40) were instrumental in Barnt Green posting a season's best 279-8 from 55 overs.

Green's young seamers, Hayden (3-45) Howes (2-56) and two outstanding run-outs from Worcestershire's Duncan Catterrall, soon had Moseley in trouble at 44-5.

But Jones's men could not stop Eustace (58 not out) and Robinson (52) getting their bats on the ball as Moseley finished on 170-7.

Captain Jones believes his side is good enough to challenge for high places in the league but he has warned against the dangers of complacency.

He said: "We are good enough to get up there but we must continue in this vein in order to avoid getting dragged down into the relegation issue again.

"The league is so tight, anything can happen now.

"It's possible we can finish high but we can also slip down if we're not careful."
