REPRESENTATIVES of more than 1,000 people who had signed a petition protesting about a plan to build a pub in a residential area of Bromsgrove packed a public inquiry in the town this week. Allied Breweries had a plan to build the pub on the corner of New Road and Fordhouse Road.
TOP TV comedian Larry Grayson, without his friend Everard, arrived at the Forelands Hospital in Bromsgrove in a chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce to open its annual fete.
POLICE were searching for a gunman who coshed and indecently assaulted a 19-year-old girl on NEW College car park in Bromsgrove after she and a friend had accepted a lift in a car in Birmingham. Her companion, who had been ordered to strip at gunpoint, escaped by leaping from the speeding vehicle as it approached Bromsgrove.
BROMSGROVE Sports Council had received applications for grants totalling £4,500 but because of the present economic climate the cash-strapped district council which controlled the purse strings had no spare money to give away.
