A MAJOR report into problems suffered by bus users has identified factors like low staff morale as being at the heart of the issue.

On Friday, councillors will consider the 52-page report from JMP consultants as they strive to set up a Partnership Action Plan and put in a bid for funding, which could see more than £1 million of investment.

A range of measures which could improve services was listed, including overhauling and simplifying service routes, newer, more accessible buses, improved driver recruitment and training, well-lit bus stops, more CCTV on buses, 'bus buddies' to help passengers and simplified fare structures.
