Regarding Andy Baxter's letter about not getting left behind in broadband Britain (Advertiser, July 1).
While I sympathise with his inability to get BT's ADSL services because the exchange is not upgraded, I was concerned to read Mr Baxter's misleading comments about broadband cable internet access.
He claims Telewest is charging a premium for broadband services, which is simply not true.
Telewest Broadband was first to launch a consumer broadband internet service in the UK and has been instrumental in introducing unlimited, fixed fee services, innovative content and highly competitive prices.
Our award-winning blueyonder broadband internet service, up to 10 times faster than a dial-up connection, is available from £25 per month, which represents the best value and quality in the marketplace today.
This stacks up favourably with comparable services such as BT Openworld at £29.99 and AOL Broadband at £34.99.
Broadband provides you with a faster and more enjoyable internet experience and is becoming the preferred choice of access.
Why is it better? There is no need to log on or tie up your phone line and you can access richer content and faster downloads enabling you to enjoy listening to music, playing games and watching videos online.
While I appreciate not everyone will be able to access the Telewest Broadband network, readers can check if cable is available by logging onto our website www.telewest.co.uk and inputting address details on our postcode checker, or by calling 0800 953 0730.
