A RECENT letter in your newspaper from Dottie Friedli wrongly states that 'Despite a strong majority wanting to have the eastern approach down the High Street kept open when the bypass was built'.

Her strong majority polled just 23% of those eligible to vote at the time. The poll was taken two months after a letter from the county council stated that the matter of the road layout was closed and it cost the village council tax payers £753 as stated in your newspaper.

This may be of interest to the many new residents who were not here at the time.
