THE appliance of science is proving a big hit with pupils in a Droitwich Spa village.

Students at Cutnall Green First School, in School Road, are enjoying a science week to mark National Science Year in Britain.

Eighty-nine children have already investigated their physical abilities with a number of experiments and yesterday (Tuesday) they were paid a visit by a Star Lab, which gave them the opportunity to learn about space and the planets.

Today (Wednesday) the budding boffins are learning about water and tomorrow (Thursday) some of the school's older children will head off to the new Thinktank, in Birmingham, which boasts a wealth of scientific information.

Science co-ordinator Angela Sherriff said: "The children are already having a fabulous time and have lots to look forward to.

"We plan to round the week off with a colour theme day - when the children will be asked to dress in one of the colours of the rainbow and they will learn about weather."
