NORTH Midlands have appointed Gary Meechan, one of the original members of the 1970s pop group The Beat, as the county's new Rugby Development Officer.
Meechan, who played as a fly-half in Stourbridge's lower teams, is now assistant coach at the National League Two club.
He previously worked as a development officer for Dudley Council
