ENTRIES for the Flavours of Here-fordshire awards have been flooding in, say organisers.

Catering and tourism firms in the county had until the end of last month to put their names forward to be the business which makes the best use of - and promotes - local produce.

Food and drink producers were also invited to have a shot at the £2,500 cash on offer thanks to Advantage West Midlands.

"All winners in the Flavours of Herefordshire awards will once again be featured in the special booklet promoting local food and drink," said a spokeswoman.

There are six categories with a prize of £250 each, including Restaurant of the Year, Tea Room of the Year, Pub of the Year, Breakfast of the Year, Shop/

Retailer of the Year and Producer of the Year.

The overall winner, due to be announced in September, will receive £1,000.

Last year, the accolade went to The Three Crowns Inn at Ullingswick.
