PARISH COUNCIL: Mr J E James was elected chairman and Mr G B Jelfs was elected vice chairman.

County Council Report: Coun Bean reported on the proposed bypass for Badsey and Bretforton, which has been recommended following a survey conducted by Halcrow Fox. A feasibly study would need to be conducted to justify expenditure.

Burial Ground: A further plan has been submitted outlining the proposed planting scheme for the extension, this will follow the same as the existing planting.

Maintenance: There had been a problem with excessive amount of grass lying on site. The contractor had now remedied the problem.

County Comput@Bus: Hopefully this will be operational in mid June. Three residents have registered interest in the courses available.

RoSPA Report - Playground Equipment: Several areas were listed for attention. Some items recommended for replacement.

WCC - Review of the Definitive Map: Legal Event Modification Orders are being made to all changes made to path network since 1989.

CPRE - AGM: Will be held at Bodenham Arboretum on Sunday, starting at 5pm.

Planning - application: Bretforton First School - extension to Library and Conversion of staff room.

Mr A Masters - Orchard Close, retrospective application for timber shed.

Mr and Mrs Smith - 60, Station Road, construct a PVCU conservatory to rear.

Approval: Mrs M Stanley - 5, Stoneford Lane. Change of use from domestic outbuilding to Soft Furnishing Business.

Withdrawn: Mr D Barker - 18, Station Road, double open fronted garage with storage/utility space above.

Public Entertainment Licence - The Butty: Copy of the application made by Bretforton Silver Band for June 3 had been received. Fire, police and highways authorities would be consulted.

Potholes: Were reported in Main Street, Coldicott Lane junction, School Lane, New Street.

Public Footpaths: Footpath officer was inspecting footpaths which cross land due to be auctioned at the end of May.

Church Clock and Churchyard Maintenance: The annual donation would be made towards the upkeep of the churchyard and maintenance of the clock.

Wall - Main Street: Recent work on the wall will be investigated. Concern was expressed as this is thought to be listed, as is the Churchyard wall.

Bus shelter - Coldicotts Lane: The timetable has become detached from the post, repair is required.

Parking - Main Street and School Lane: Complaints have been received about cars blocking the footpaths.

Footpath - Ivy Lane: Area is being assessed for provision of new footpath.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, June 10 in the Memorial Hall, starting at 7.15pm with open forum.

GARDEN CLUB: Open Gardens: Gardens will be open on Sunday starting at 11am until 7pm. Refreshments available.

ST LEONARD'S CHURCH: Open Air Service/Asparagus Auction: Asparagus Open Air Service will be held on Sunday, June 9 (weather permitting) in the Cross starting at 7pm. Followed by the Asparagus Auction at the Fleece at 8pm.

GARDENS: Bretforton villagers will be opening their gardens on Sunday from 11am to 7pm.

About 15 gardens will open to raise money for Bretforton Church and County Air Ambulance.

Admission to the gardens is £2.50 for adults (children free). Teas and lunches will be available at the Memorial Hall.

There will also be an open-air church service in the Cross starting at 7pm with Bretforton Silver Band, followed by an Asparagus Auction at the Fleece at approx 8pm.
