THE future of eye services at hospitals in Bromsgrove and Redditch is yet to be decided, campaigners have been told.
Thousands of people have signed petitions to retain the services at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bromsgrove and the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Redditch.
Many fear a review of eye services now being carried out by health chiefs will result in them being moved to other hospitals.
Bromsgrove MP Julie Kirkbride, who recently presented a petition to the House of Commons, has received a letter from Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust chairman Michael O'Riordan regarding the services.
He pointed out that the countywide review of the services was continuing.
"The letter is extremely disappointing," said Miss Kirkbride.
"I am very sad they are not prepared to offer a guarantee."
