KIDDERMINSTER Harriers' midfielder Richie Appleby has turned down a new contract offer from the Aggborough club and will become a free agent on June 30.
A disappointed Harriers' manager Ian Britton said: "We did everything possible to keep him.
"At the end of the day, we were not prepared to compromise the long term financial security of the club for one player."
Former Kidderminster boss Jan Molby may well be interested in the player but Britton said: "Richie's reasons for refusing to sign are many and varied, but those discussions must remain private between Richie and I.
"Richie is a talented player and everyone at the club wishes him well."
