THE Malvern Hills District Schools Tag-rugby Mini Leagues, organised this year by District Sport Services, is now in full swing.

The Malvern Hills District has again been divided up into three clusters; Malvern, Martley and Upton. The primary schools in these clusters play inter-school matches at three designated centres, these being Malvern RFC, Sport Martley and The Hill Centre near Upton.

In the Malvern cluster, the league is really hotting-up after the third week of matches. Three schools are heading the standings at the moment, with only one try separating first place with the third spot. Malvern Link head the table followed closely by Northleigh and Great Malvern.

Behind the leaders come Malvern Wells, Powick and St Joseph's, all of who could influence the league's final standings or even steal the pole positions themselves. The bottom four schools are all new to the sport this year and despite having to hold-up the top six, the children from The Grove, The Wyche, Leigh & Bransford and Poolbrook are becoming more accomplished tag-rugby players as the competition heads for the penultimate week of matches. These schools can also decide the fortune of the league leaders, and as always in tag-rugby, the form book cannot always be relied upon.

More tag-rugby news from around the district including the Martley and Upton cluster Mini-League results will be coming soon.
