MALVERN Town met Redditch at the County Sports ground on Monday and recorded another fine win to collect the Worcester Royal Infirmary U18s Youth Cup.

MALVERN TOWN 3, REDDITCH 0

After an even first 20 minutes Town opened the scoring when Edward Lyons beat the Redditch left back and skipper Michael Cole interceded to crack the ball home.

Redditch were restricted to few chances due to the sterling defence work of Thomas, Shaw and Gwilliam and on the one occasion that the Redditch striker broke through, goalie Ian Hill saved a magnificent one on one.

Left winger Tom Drew had a superb game and it was he who slipped the ball through to Adam Gwilliam who finished well to put Town 2-0 up.

Gritty midfielder Alec Smith cut the Redditch defence in two with a superb through ball to substitute Craig Ellis who in turn chipped the ball over the stranded keeper.

Town have now won four trophies so far this season: the Malvern U18s Youth Division Cup, the WFA Sunday Youth Cup, the Malvern League's Rosebowl and the Royal Infirmary Sunday U18s Youth Cup with still the chance of winning another trophy, the Malvern Bromsgrove League Challenge Cup.
