AS past mayor of Ledbury 2001-2002, I would personally like to thank all of the townspeople who have supported me throughout that year and for all the public response from people who asked if I would stand for a second term to represent the town as its ambassador.
This I would have done gladly, but it was not to be due to two words, 'protocol' and 'etiquette'. It is not the done thing and basically I rocked the boat, but at least I now know where I stand.
What I achieved in my year was to have the choir of St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, for my charity concert and thanks must also go to all the other committees which promote Ledbury - keep up the good work!
To end, I would like to thank my wife Sue and family for all their help and support,
COUN PHILL
BETTINGTON, Albert Road, Ledbury.
