WILD Cotswold rabbit, traditional Worcestershire cheese and fresh fruit grown just outside Upton will be on offer at a new farmers' market on Sunday (May 19).

Sir Michael Spicer and the Bishop of Hereford will launch the inaugural event at The Hunter's Inn in Longdon, from 11am to 2pm.

There will be up to 20 different stalls and a pig roast. People are also welcome to make a picnic of food from the market or eat locally-produced Sunday lunch in the pub.

The market is expected to become a monthly event, although long-term sponsorship is still being sought.

Organisers hope Prince Charles, who has written to voice his support for the venture, will visit it at some time in the future.

The market is the brainchild of Anne Mietke whose partner, Arthur Warner, bought the pub in September.
