TWENTY-five Perdiswell Park Golf Club members competed for the club qualifying heat of the Marie Curie Cancer Re-search Competition.

In the absence of the highly successful Perdiswell juniors, who were competing their own Student Championship, the coast was clear for adult member Kevin Holland, playing off 19 handicap, to register his place in the regional round of the competition.

He returned a winning Stableford score of 40 points and it was his front nine performance of 19 points that separated him from runner-up Neville Baird, who carded a front nine 18 points and a total of 39 points.

Martin Dodd was two points short in third spot.

Meanwhile, James Newman is taking this Perdiswell season by storm with another win to take his tally to five outright wins.

This time he stormed around the Park course to outstrip his fellow juniors for a superb 38 stableford points and take the Perdiswell Student Championship.

In runners-up and third positions were two fresh names in Sam Harper carding 34 points and Joe Ballard with 33 points.

These were followed by Keiron Tuckley 32points, Neil Doherty 31 points and Rob Munro 29 points to complete the top six places.
