MALVERN Wells will be firing off a douLane, which is used as a rat run to avoid Top Cross.
Coun Pete Watts, chairman of Ledbury Town Council's planning committee, said he was "glad to see the last of the building sites" and likewise called for more attention to be given to Ledbury's roads, in particular imposing a speed restriction as low as 20mph on areas around the schools.
Coun Ashton said extra housing had added pressure in areas like schools and on medical services.
The chairman of Hereford-shire Council, Peter Harling, also a Ledbury councillor, said house building would not cease completely.
He said developers would now seek "infill" sites around Ledbury, in the absence of larger areas to build on.
