THE Forthampton & District Royal British Legion's coffee morning held on the May Day Bank Holiday raised approximately £400. This will be divided between the Poppy Fund, the branch fund and the ladies section. The event was opened by the county field officer, Col Tim Merrett OBE, who told those present that the Royal British Legion spent £48 million annually on homes, pensions, welfare etc and the money comes in from many sources including poppies.
