REPRESENTING The Chase, Clare Eckersley regained her title for the Smyth Cup Schools Tennis Tournament for the third time running and fourth time altogether.
The Smyth Cup is a long standing tournament which has been running for 80 years. This year the tournament attracted a good standard of competitors from four schools The Chase, Malvern Girls' College, Alice Ottley and Hereford Cathedral School.
Unfortunately the Scott Cup (boys event) was unable to go ahead due to lack of entrants. It is hoped that next year the tournament will regain its popularity and both events will be well attended.
Clare beat Lindsey Underwood for Alice Ottley to regain her title, although this will be her last time representing The Chase in this tournament.
The final of the plate was won by Sophie Collett of Hereford Cathedral School by beating Polly Greenhalgh of Alice Ottley.
