A FORUM to find out how older people in Worcestershire would like to see the health service improve has been hailed a success.

The Open Space event, held at Worcester Rugby Club, at Sixways, attracted more than 170 delegates.

During the day, health professionals discussed such issues as social services, transport, communication and car parking with the guests.

Delegates were divided into groups and invited to give their ideas for improvements.

"We found that people preferred speaking in small groups rather than in a big audience," said Janet Ferguson, spokeswoman for South Worcestershire Primary Care Trust.

"This was the first event of its kind and we were very pleased to see such a wide range of people from around the county.

"We will now be collating all the comments," she said.
