NEIGHBOURHOOD watch groups in Worcestershire - which are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year - have the chance to cash in on their crime-fighting efforts.

ADT Fire and Security has substantial cash prizes for those organisations which have come up with the most innovative, interesting and public spirited ideas.

The awareness week will run from Saturday, June 15 and ADT are expecting a number of interesting entries.

The overall winner will receive a cheque for £1,000 while regional winners will get £500.

"We are extremely proud to support this week once again and reward the hard work and effort of those people who are dedicated to making their communities safer," said Jackie Hewitt, home security marketing manager for ADT.

"I have no doubt that the standard of entry for this year's event will be equally high and our judges are expecting to make some more tough decisions.

"As the week is fast approaching us, we are calling once again for groups all over the UK to enter our competition - and I would like to wish everyone the best of luck."

John Howell, director general of National Neighbourhood Watch Association, said it was hoping to build on the "amazing" success of last year.

Entry forms - which have to be in by Monday, June 10 - can be obtained from Lorna Gilmour on 01698 787862 or on www.neighbourhoodwatch.net
