UNDEFEATED Chaddesley Corbett hung on for a draw at Bromyard in Worcestershire League Division One.

They survived despite a league record 158 not out from the Herefordshire club's Ashley Bullock as they rattled up 281-2 in their 50 overs.

In reply, Chaddesley's last pair of Paul Connolly and Andy Elbro lasted the final seven overs to gain five points and keep the villagers in the top three.

Bullock gave two easy chances in his innings which Chaddesley dropped but proceeded to smash the ball to all corners of the small ground.

Ed Oliver chipped in with 64 as Bromyard piled on 204 for the first wicket.

Ian Chambers returned to the Chaddesley attack to take two wickets in as many balls but Bullock reached his 150 in the 48th over.

Chaddesley lost wickets at regular intervals in their reply although Andy Baylis clobbered 41 in entertaining fashion.

But Baylis' dismissal left Chaddesley at 88-4 before Kevin Truswell, who had created the record that Bullock broke, stepped into the fray.

Truswell scored a determined 67 only to be bowled by a shooter from Nick Hitchings.

Hitchings bowled unchanged throughout Chaddesley's innings for figures of 6-63 but could not remove late heroes Connolly and Elbro.

Bromyard 281-2, Chaddesley Corbett 195-9.

Chaddesley progressed to National Village Knock-out Cup round three after a 112-run victory over Elmley Castle on Sunday.

Chaddesley batted first and scored an imposing 231-9.

Matt Boden and George Baylis added 130 before Baylis was bowled for 67 as he aimed an ugly heave to the boundary.

Boden followed stumped for 43 and the run rate slowed as Chaddesley were unable to get Elmley's spinners away.

Neil Cooper dismissed Sam Boden, Elbro and Connolly to take a hat-trick but Truswell scored an unbeaten 41 to guide Chaddesley to 231.

Elmley could not come to terms with the pace of Ed Baylis and Elbro in reply.

Elbro and T Boden took three wickets apiece as Elmley were bowled out for 119 in just 26 overs.

Chaddesley Corbett 231-9, Elmley Castle 119.
