THE first of three Friday evening fixtures at Stratford Racecourse takes place tomorrow with the first race starting at 6.05pm.

Annual Ladies Day is sure to be an evening of sophistication and reverie and a chance for all to dust of those hats and dress in their finest.

Elvi, the Stratford-based ladies clothing store, will be putting on a series of fashion shows between races, while there will be prizes for those dressed for success.

Debenhams, Angel Jewellery and Elvi will be kindly donating prizes for two categories - Best Dressed Lady, Most Fashionable Lady, with the overall winner receiving two £100 vouchers for Elvi and Debenhams.

Stratford trainer Robin Dickin is likely to have a runner or two and he will be keen for a quick return to the winners' enclosure after Shampooed put a poor run seven days earlier to win at Worcester last Saturday.

Again partnered by the prolific Tony McCoy, Dickin's horse produced a typically game front-running display to win a two-mile handicap chase at odds of 100-30.
