COUGHTON Court near Alcester, the home of the Throckmorton family, is throwing open its gates to an array of summer events.

Starting with a plant fair on June 29, the stately pile continues to offer visitors a range of activities and shows throughout the summer months.

Other events planned include Scottish Country Dancing on the afternoon of June 29.

An historic VW festival on June 30, a flower festival in the house and churches from July 9 to14 and Shakespeare in the Garden.

Craft fair

Performances include Romeo and Juliet and Midsummer Night's Dream at 7.30pm on July 20 and 21.

In August there is a craft fair from August 2 to 4, Robin Hood, family outdoor theatre at 2.30pm on August 11 and Children's Open Air Theatre at 2pm and 4pm on August 18.

Later in the year Coughton Court plays host to a performance of much-loved opera Cosi fan Tutte on October 5, a home and design exhibition, from November 1 to 3 and a Christmas Wassail at 4.30pm ad 7.30pm on December 14 to 15.
