environmental health officers are dropping in on pupils at Spa schools to teach them that silence is golden.
Wychavon District Council's environmental health chiefs are visiting local school children as part of Noise Action Day, which is being held today (Wednesday).
The officers will be armed with props including a CD of nuisance sounds and noise monitoring equipment to help promote awareness that not all loud noise is everyone's cup of tea.
Wychbold First and Nursery School, in School Road, was the first port of call on Tuesday, May 14, and Chawson First School, in Wyche Road, will be visited on June 13.
Nick Baker, the head of environmental health, said: "A lot of people like to play their favourite music at full volume but it may not be their neighbour's choice.
"By targeting schools we hope to give an idea of the problems noise causes others," he said.
"Hopefully, we can give them some values and knowledge that they can take into later life. Who knows - they may even teach their parents a thing or two."
