DOUBLE amputee and ex-navy lieutenant David Beard, who is setting out on a 120-mile journey around Guernsey next Tuesday, has attracted considerable interest in his odyssey.
An event website received 1,000 hits over a five-day period last week and Mr Beard, of Blakedown, said he was very pleased with the interest generated.
The eight-day tour around the nine parishes of the Channel Island aims to raise £40,000 to share between the Royal British Legion, Canine Partners for Independence and SSAFA Forces Help.
