THERE'S just over two weeks to go until Evesham's big day out.
The town's carnival takes place on Saturday, June 1 and will form part of the celebrations for the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
Entries for floats for the carnival procession are now flooding in from groups and societies in the town. Andrew Laver, from organisers Evesham Round Table, said: "We are forging ahead now. We have quite a few floats and several bands booked, but the more we have the better it will be overall."
Float entries on the theme of Kings and Queens of England need to be submitted by Thursday, May 30 at the latest.
They should be sent to Mike Challenger, 1 The Green, Cleeve Prior, Worcs WR11 8LE. Further information is available from him on 01789 772633. The Round Table is also running a competition to find a suitable design for the front cover of the carnival's commemorative programme and entries should be submitted to Mr Challenger by Thursday, May 23.
