PARKING abuses have led a lobby group to call for a full-time traffic warden.
Stourport's town centre forum - which represents businesses and councils among other interests - made the request to Kidderminster Police in response to illegal parking, especially in High Street.
"Cars are parking on yellow lines in the High Street when there are actually spaces on the other side of the road," said the forum's chairman, Derek Fradgley. "Motorists don't care any more.
"On certain days I reckon you could park your car illegally all day on the High Street and not get caught.
"If a big lorry comes up it can't get through and traffic queues back over the bridge.
We want a full-time traffic warden, who we would be prepared to share with Bewdley."
No-one from Kiddermin-ster Police was available for comment.
