WORCESTERSHIRE county councillors have distanced themselves from comments made against the county's new hospital by a colleague.
Coun Stephen Clee, Coun Pauline Norton and Coun Louise Edginton have denounced the criticism expressed by Health Concern Councillor John Gordon.
Coun Gordon had dubbed the Worcestershire Royal Hospital the "hospital from hell" at a council meeting earlier this month.
But Coun Clee says the people of Worcestershire have nothing to fear at the new hospital.
"During a visit we found the new hospital to be a very vibrant place," he said.
"The whole visit was one of immense pleasure and I would urge residents not to be offended by the comments made by my fellow councillor."
Yesterday, shadow health secretary Dr Liam Fox, praised the hospital following his visit last Friday, paying tribute to the staff's "obvious dedication" and its "attractive working environment".
