A WORCESTER teenager has appeared in court charged with assaulting care workers at a children's home.
The 13-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admits carrying out a series of assaults on workers at the Worcester home last month.
The attacks, along with criminal damage to the home, took place between Friday, April 19 and Sunday, April 28.
Worcester magistrates decided yesterday to adjourn the case to allow a psychological report on the youngster to be carried out.
Mark Anderson, defending, said the boy clearly had a large number of problems and it was important to decide what the best thing for him would be.
"He's at the home at the moment because there's nowhere else for him to go," he said.
"There's no funding for him to be moved out of the county, and they don't want him back at the home.
"It's difficult to see where else those who are dealing with him can take him."
He said this behaviour was continuous rather than a sudden outburst and had to be dealt with quickly before the court ran out of options for him.
The teenager will be sentenced on Wednesday, July 10 after the compilation of the report.
He was released on bail, with the condition attached that he must live at the children's home.
