BARNT Green CC Second XI are still looking for their first win of the season after a five-wicket defeat to Coventry and North Warwickshire.

Green batted first and a poor start saw openers Matt Hudson and Mark Bagley dismissed with only four runs on the board.

Mike Wakeman (26) and Alan White (14 not out) moved the score beyond the 150 mark and the innings closed on 154-7 from 50 overs.

In reply, Coventry lost May for a duck and Donald went for 13. Eames was next to go and Coventry found themselves on 31-3.

A hard hit 16 from Keene took Coventry beyond the 100 but 50 were still needed from the final 14 overs.

Weir (77no) and Pearson (20no) saw the hosts home with three overs to spare. Barnt Green, 3 points; Coventry, 20 points.
