OLD friend Mike Hinton from Kings Heath Park was welcomed to the May meeting.
His subject for the evening was vegetable growing and he explained all the main elements to successfully growing a variety of vegetables, including all the latest ideas.
He went on to show you did not need to own a large plot of land to grow a variety of vegetables but could successfully grow a number of plants in containers or grow bags on a patio or balcony.
They can even be grown between perennial plants in the flower border.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday, June 5, at 7.30pm at Wythall Institute, Alcester Road, Wythall.
Mr Worthington will give a talk on 'bogland.'
