COUNCILLORS elected to serve Alcester in the recent district council elections have laid out their aims and objectives for their terms in office.

Councillor Susan Juned has lived in Alcester 17 years, is married to Shahid and has three adult children who all attended town schools.

She is a trained scientist and has worked in research with a particular interest in the environment.

Mrs Juned said her aims in Alcester were to ensure it retained and improved the services and environment that make it unique.

She also wants to see the town get a fair share of council funding.

She lists the future of the Greig Centre and the replacement of Alcester Hospital and Meadow View as high Priorities.

After 18 years serving Alcester, Councillor Cliff Meade prides himself on the "open house" policy he and his fellow district councillors share with townsfolk.

Mr Meade, husband of Alcester Hospital ward manager Kathy, believes the reason he and his fellow councillors are re-elected is their ability to interact with residents.

One of the councillor's main objectives is to achieve more recognition for Alcester.

Pam Price has served as a district councillor for seven years.

Her main aim is to ensure vital community facilities and organisations are supported and their futures secured.

One of her greatest concerns is the Greig Centre.

Mrs Price is involved with several groups, including Alcester Civic Society and the Greig Hall.

She is also on the board of trustees for the CAB.
