TOWN MP Hal Miller raised questions about six historic chartist cottages in Dodford, in the House of Commons. The recent listing of the cottages was now the subject of a complaint to the Local Commissioners and the MP hoped to draw the government's attention to the consequences of the listing for the residents and to appeal for the restrictions to be lifted.

TWO town children forged another link between Buckingham Palace, in London and Bromsgrove when they presented a scroll of loyal greetings from the silver jubilee family concert of Bromsgrove Festival. Rachel Murphy, of West Road, Bromsgrove and Adam Bullivant, of Tutnall, who were among 100 children who signed the scroll, presented it to the deputy master of the Royal household, representing the Queen, inside the palace.

THE proposed shopping complex on the old cattle market site in Market Street could be the town's last chance to bring in the right type of store - Bromsgrove Trades Council was told. Mr Trevor Porter, a district councillor, told members that shopping in Bromsgrove badly needed a shot in the arm, but not another supermarket.
