A TOP chef is cooking up the perfect nosh to help England taste World Cup success.

Roger Narbett has taken over as the licensee of The Chequers at Cutnall Green. But he will soon be jetting off to Japan and South Korea to make sure the England stars get the right food during the tournament.

Roger has been adviser to the team since 1989, planning and preparing all the menus along with dieticians.

"Whenever there is a game I am called up in advance and work in conjunction with whatever hotel the team stays in," he said.

The chef, who has already been to Japan and Korea checking out venues, grew up in the pub business. His father John ran The Bell at Belbroughton for many years.
