WEBHEATH First School has embarked on a multi-sensory garden project to coincide with the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
The project at the Downsell Road school involves building herb and rock gardens, a feature wall, seating and study areas and is set to embrace the development of sensory perception, recycling materials and solar energy.
The scheme is expected to be finished by June, when it is hoped an official opening will take place, and is estimated to cost about £3,000.
Headteacher John Gooding said the herb garden would contain scented herbs and plants, paved and gravel areas and would be connected by a sound tube to a rock garden consisting of a solar powered water feature coupled with various rocks and gravel areas.
