Redditch Youth Fencers were strongly represented in the Jubilee Foil Fencing Competition at The King's School, Worcester, when 11 members took part.
The competition, fought with non-electric foils, was exciting with each match closely fought, but the biggest surprise came in the U12 boys/girls foil.
The final six was made up entirely of Redditch Youth Fencers and the last fight was between brothers Lewis and Andrew Chung for the title with younger brother Andrew upsetting the odds to win.
The result in the U12s was eventually decided as follows: first, Andrew Chung; second, James Harris; third, John Noakes; fourth, Lewis Chung; followed by Andrew Seager, James Renhard and Scott Gourlay.
First girl was Redditch's Bethany Weller.
In the U14 boys Redditch Youth Fencers took first and second spots, with Daniel Wilson coming out on top over Neil Seager. The results are combined in the U16 boys, U16 girls and adults competitions due to small numbers taking part and again Redditch Youth Fencers enjoyed success, with Sam Jones taking top spot for U16 boys and girls and Lizzie Jefferson fifth.
Mark Farmer was the winner for the group in the men's section.
