THIRTY Rubery residents attended a public meeting to discover whether methane gas found at a village playing field was dangerous.
Health chiefs from Bromsgrove District Council told residents that while there was evidence of gas on the perimeter of Brook Road Recreation Ground, nearby homes that have been checked so far are safe.
Householders were invited to the meeting at Holywell Primary and Nursery School, in Gunner Lane on Tuesday April 30.
A monitoring exercise is underway and further updates are expected shortly.
