A DILAPIDATED wooden fence that had been an eyesore and a hazard to pedestrians in Bromsgrove for many years has been removed thanks to the efforts of district councillors, husband and wife Alan and Rita Dent.
The couple, who represent the Whitford and Sidemoor wards respectively for the Tories, live near the junction of Crabtree Lane and Willow Road in Sidemoor where the fence had been slowly getting into a worse condition for many years.
Now they have been successful in getting it replaced with one made of steel - placed on the inside of the hedge bordering the field.
Councillor Mrs Dent said: "After many years of watching the fence deteriorate and causing a hazard to pedestrians we are delighted that contact by ourselves with the owner, Mr Billingham from Stourbridge, has resulted in a much improved secure fence being erected and the existing one removed."
She thanked staff in the environmental and planning departments at Bromsgrove District Council, and Mr Billingham, for their assistance in getting the job done
