TOWN residents are being urged to dress up to the nines and hedge their bets at a charity event to be held in Bromsgrove next month in aid of cancer patients.

Following last year's successful campaign, the Primrose Hospice and Cancer Help Centre, in St Godwald's Road, Finstall, is once again planning its Go Yellow Week.

It is part of a national appeal to support hospices throughout the country.

The event, a Royal Ascot Ladies' Day at Grafton Manor Hotel, in Grafton Lane, off Worcester Road, will be the high profile event of the week.

The event, on Thursday June 20, includes a champagne reception followed by a three course lunch, live coverage of the races and an on course bookmaker to take the bets.

Special guest is "Del Boy" look-a-like, Stephan Feix, as clerk of the course.

Many schools and businesses are also urged to get in on the action and stage their own Go Yellow event for raise much needed cash.

Fundraising manager Jane Wardman said: "A lot of hard work goes into organising a campaign of this size which involves many different areas of the community.

"We hope we can encourage plenty of schools and businesses, shops and pubs to join in.

"It's a fun way of raising vital funds for our hospice and supporting Go Yellow will make a difference to out patients and those who care for them either at home or at the centre."
