FOUR youngsters, one aged nine, have been questioned by police in connection with a brutal attack on a lamb, which resulted in it having to be destroyed.

A decision is yet to be made on what action will be taken against the four boys, two aged eleven, a 13 and the nine-year-old, who were questioned by officers at Bromsgrove Police station last week.

The attack, which was described by a police spokesman as a "callous act on a poor and defenceless creature" took place on Monday evening, April 30, at Foxwalks Farm, in Grafton Lane.

The animal, which belonged to the Newell famly, was so badly injured it had to be destroyed by a local vet.

A force spokesman said: "We received a great many calls from the public about this incident, in particular other youngsters who were shocked that this could happen."
