POLICE are seeking witnesses after staff and customers were left shaken by a post office raid in Bromsgrove.

Detectives are hunting two men who are believed to have carried out the robbery in Providence Road, Sidemoor, at around 3.50pm, last Thursday.

One offender stood watch at the door, whilst a second man jumped over the counter and stole an undisclosed amount of money.

Two customers and a member of staff witnessed the raid. The man who stood guard was black and his accomplaice was white. Both were in their twenties and wore sporty hooded tops pulled up.

The pair escaped in a blue and grey Rover 216, registration H878 XCA, and headed up Broad Street towards Stourbridge Road.

The getaway vehicle was stolen from Nechells in Birmingham and later found abandoned in Smethwick.

Detective Inspector Steve Cullen, of Bromsgrove police, is leading the investigation.

He said: "The people in the post office were not injured during this incident but they have been very shaken up by it.

"We need the public to help us find out who these offenders are."

Forensic examinations were carried out at the post office and the car was examined.
