Three star
A bit of a mixed bag from the ubiquitous Mr Weller which will serve only to remind fans of how good he used to be when he was a proper moped-riding punk revolutionary.
The essence of a good jam is to have mouth-watering chunks spicing up the liquid which binds it together so, in essence, this cash-in 25th anniversary edition hits the right notes.
There are no surprises and Jam afficionados can put The Style Council out of their heads and immerse themselves in a collection of 26 tracks they will consider old friends.
The classic tracks are all there and The Eton Rifles, Going Underground, Start!, That's Entertainment and, of course, A Town Called Malice would make any collection priceless.
The other 21 tracks (including UK only bonus track Boy About Town) are unexceptional to mainstream listeners.
A useful edition to fill out your CD collection or transfer your vinyl favourites to CD but hardly earth-shattering.
The previously unreleased version of That's Entertainment might tempt completists to part with their hard-earned cash but does not sound in any way unique to the untrained ear.
