A BALLET which tells the rags to riches tale of a Salford shoemaker will be performed at Birmingham Hippodrome.
Birmingham Royal Ballet presents Hobson's Choice from Wednesday, May 22 until Saturday, May 25.
David Bintley's ballet is hailed as a perfect combination of tender love story, hilarious comedy and foot-tapping musical.
Based on Harold Brighouse's well-known play, the ballet features humble boot maker Will Mossop, whose talent could take him far - if only someone would push him in the right direction.
The girl for the job is headstrong Maggie Hobson, who is learning to play by the rules, and win, in a man's world.
And then there's Henry, Maggie's father, completely flummoxed by a younger generation every bit as stubborn as himself.
Tickets cost £9-£38 from the box office on 0870 730 1234.
