A MALVERN woman was caught drink-driving while picking up her boyfriend after a night out.
Katherine Higgins was pulled over by police in Lower Wick after they saw her car swerve near a roundabout, Worcester Magistrates Court heard.
Abi Nixon, prosecuting, said the officers could smell alcohol on Higgins' breath after she was pulled over on Sunday, April 21.
When the 30-year-old was breathalysed, she had a reading of 41 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath, compared to a legal limit of 35.
Mark Sheward, defending, said Higgins had two glasses of wine two or three hours before she set out to pick her boyfriend up from Worcester.
He said she had not been expecting to pick him up as she thought he had arranged transport to their home in Guest Hills Road, Malvern.
Higgins admitted one count of drink-driving, and magistrates banned her from driving for a year, and ordered her to pay a £200 fine and £50 costs.
