A WORCESTER truck dealership has been named top dog in a national awards ceremony.

Watts Truck Centre, which has depots in the city and Moreton-on-Lugg, Herefordshire, has been awarded the Sword of Excellence for being the top DAF dealership in the country.

The company was also recognised as the country's leading after-sales service provider and also picked up the national award for parts merchandising.

The Sword of Excellence is awarded to the dealer who comes out with top marks when the results of the service and parts departments are combined.

Watts Truck Centre was delighted to be only the second recipient of this prestigious award.

Programme

The marking process is rigorous, with performance judged against various criteria on an ongoing basis throughout the year.

At the end of the year, depending on the marks achieved, dealers are ranked either A, B, or C category.

Since the inception of the programme seven years ago, Watts Truck Centre is the only dealer in Britain to be awarded A status in both the parts and service sector of the business every year.

"It is a source of great pride to the management of Watts, and I am sure all the staff, that we are recipients of the Sword and two other National Awards," said a spokesman for the company.
