A HIGH-PITCHED wail, which disturbed many town residents during the Bank Holiday weekend, left police scratching their heads.
Officers received calls of a loud siren sounding at around 1.30am on Tuesday May 7.
After driving around the town for half an hour they failed to establish where the noise was coming from and abandoned their mission.
